ACUTE INJURY CLINIC
The Acute Injury Clinic operates to offer patients rapid access to care for their musculoskeletal needs, run by our Nurse Practitioner (NP) Cheryl Dale. The clinic offers quick appointment times for patients having difficulty accessing care, do not have family doctors, or would like a second opinion. It is also a great alternative for people with MSK injuries, instead of using our crowded Emergency Departments. Patients can also come to the clinic if they have an old injury, or MSK related pain, such as o steoarthritis, and would like treatment options, and referrals to the sports medicine team of physicians here at the clinic.
Our Nurse Practitioner Cheryl is able to assess and diagnose any MSK issues, order imaging if needed, provide specialist referrals, as well as complete some injections. As this is not an OHIP funded service, there will be a $50 fee per appointment. Additional charges may apply for additional services such as forms, notes, and injectable medications (if applicable).
Common conditions treated at this clinic:
Acute sports injuries
Overuse injuries
Chronic MSK conditions, such as Osteoarthritis
Sports related concussions

Why the assessment fee?
We want to be transparent about our fee for an appointment with our nurse practitioner as most Ontarians have OHIP coverage for assessments
This fee for the Acute Injury Clinic self referral assessment is to cover the costs of the staff and supplies directly related to this service as nurse practitioner assessments are not able to be billed to OHIP. For those who cannot cover the fee, there are OHIP funded ways to be referred and assessed by one of our sports medicine physicians. This would be through a referral from your family doctor’s office, walk-in clinic,or emergency room. While this clinic may be beneficial for patients wishing to have rapid access, we welcome all patient referrals in other forms.
